Free Personal Finance Calculators for Every Money Goal
Published June 12, 2026 ยท 6 min read
Most personal finance questions have exact numerical answers, but getting them usually requires a financial advisor, a purpose-built app that wants your bank credentials, or a spreadsheet you have to build yourself. None of that is necessary for the calculation โ the math is the same regardless of who runs it.
The calculators below cover the full range of personal financial decisions: borrowing (loan EMI, interest cost), investing (compound interest, ROI, savings goals), income (salary breakdown), everyday spending (tips, discounts, taxes), and transport. All run entirely in your browser โ no account, no subscription, nothing stored. The full collection is in the Calculators hub.
Loan and EMI Calculator
The question every borrower should answer before signing anything: what does this loan actually cost? Not the headline rate โ the real monthly payment, total interest paid, and how each payment breaks down across the full term.
The Loan & EMI Calculator takes three inputs โ principal, annual interest rate, and loan term โ and outputs the monthly EMI, total repayment amount, total interest paid, and a full amortization schedule showing the principal vs. interest split in every single payment.
The amortization table is the revealing part. On a 20-year home loan, more than 60% of the first year's payments go toward interest, not principal. The total interest over the full term often exceeds the original loan amount. Seeing this before committing to a loan term makes the real cost concrete in a way that the monthly EMI figure alone never does. The calculator also works in reverse: if you know the EMI you can afford, enter it to find the maximum principal you can borrow at a given rate and term.
Compound Interest Calculator
Compound interest is the principle most people understand intellectually and almost nobody internalizes โ because the numbers are impossible to estimate mentally across long time horizons.
The Compound Interest Calculator runs scenarios over years and decades with full configurability: principal, annual rate, compounding frequency (daily, monthly, quarterly, annually), and monthly contributions. It outputs a year-by-year breakdown so you can watch the curve steepen.
A concrete example: โน1,00,000 at 8% compounded monthly for 30 years becomes โน10,94,713 โ nearly 11ร your initial investment, with โน9,94,713 coming purely from interest compounding on interest. Add โน5,000 in monthly contributions and the total climbs to roughly โน85 lakhs. The difference between starting this at age 25 vs. 35 โ even with identical monthly amounts โ is typically a 2โ3ร difference in final value. The calculator makes this gap visible in a way that abstract financial advice does not.
ROI Calculator
Return on investment is useful beyond the stock market. Any decision that has a cost and a return โ a marketing campaign, a certification course, solar panels, rental property โ can be evaluated with ROI to produce a comparable percentage.
The ROI Calculator handles both standard ROI and annualized ROI (CAGR). Standard ROI is simply (net gain รท cost) ร 100 โ useful for quick comparisons. Annualized ROI normalizes the result to a per-year figure: a 50% gain over 5 years is very different from 50% over 1 year, and CAGR adjusts for this so you can compare an investment's actual performance against a fixed deposit rate or index fund benchmark.
Enter cost, enter the return (either total exit value or net gain), and optionally the holding period in years. The calculator outputs standard ROI %, annualized ROI, return multiple, and break-even point.
Savings Goal Calculator
If the compound interest calculator answers "what will I have?", the savings goal calculator answers "what do I need to do to get there?"
The Savings Goal Calculator works in two directions. Give it a target amount, time horizon, and expected return, and it tells you the monthly saving required. Give it a monthly saving amount, rate, and time horizon, and it shows when you hit the goal and the total interest earned along the way.
Practical uses: calculating the monthly saving needed to reach a house down payment within 4 years; finding whether a 6-month emergency fund is achievable within your current budget; planning for a large specific purchase. The output gives you an exact monthly number instead of the vague "save more" advice that goes nowhere.
Salary Calculator
The Salary Calculator converts between hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and annual pay in both directions. Three situations where this matters:
Comparing job offers. A โน12 LPA salaried role vs. a โน700/hour contract position โ which pays more over a standard 250-day work year? The calculator answers this in one step, including the difference in working hours and days baked into each arrangement.
Setting freelance rates. If your target is โน18 LPA and you can realistically bill 1,400 hours per year, you need to charge โน1,286/hour. The calculator derives this directly from your income target and available hours โ no guessing required.
Evaluating a raise. A โน50,000 annual raise is โน4,167 per month gross. Knowing the monthly figure โ not just the annual headline โ makes it easier to decide whether a role change is worth the disruption.
Discount and VAT Calculators
Two quick-use calculators that eliminate a persistent mental-math gap:
The Discount Calculator handles all three directions of percentage-off math: find the sale price from a discount %, find the discount % from original and sale price, or find the original price from a sale price and stated discount percentage. The third direction is the most commonly needed: an item is priced at โน1,400 with a "30% off" tag โ what was the original price? The calculator gives you โน2,000 instantly rather than requiring you to reverse-engineer the percentage in your head at a checkout counter.
The VAT / Tax Calculator adds or removes VAT, GST, or sales tax from any amount at any rate. Whether you need the tax-inclusive price for a client quote, the pre-tax amount from a receipt, or the tax component alone, the calculator shows all three figures simultaneously at whatever rate applies โ 5%, 12%, 18%, 20%, or any custom rate.
Tip Calculator
The Tip Calculator calculates tip amount, total bill, and per-person split for any combination of bill size, tip percentage, and group size. The split is the key feature: a โน4,800 restaurant bill with 6 people at 15% tip produces an exact per-person amount of โน920. The calculator also rounds up or down to the nearest clean number per person, so groups can agree on a figure without anyone doing division at the table.
Fuel Cost Calculator
People consistently underestimate the cost of long drives and regular commutes โ typically by 20โ40% โ because they think in terms of price per liter without tracking how many liters the journey actually consumes.
The Fuel Cost Calculator computes road trip fuel cost from distance, vehicle fuel efficiency (MPG or L/100km), and current fuel price. It supports passenger cost splitting for shared journeys. Enter the numbers on your next long drive and the result is usually higher than the intuitive guess โ which is precisely the point. Accurate cost visibility changes decisions: whether to share a vehicle, whether a fuel-efficient car purchase pays for itself within a reasonable timeframe, or whether a trip's total cost justifies itself.
Percentage Calculator
Financial analysis constantly requires percentage calculations that fall into recurring patterns โ and the mental math is error-prone enough that a dedicated tool pays for itself quickly.
The Percentage Calculator handles every pattern from a single interface: what is X% of Y, X is what % of Y, percentage change between two values, and percentage increase/decrease from a base. The percentage change calculation is the most useful for financial tracking โ comparing month-on-month revenue, measuring portfolio performance, or quickly assessing how much a price has moved from a reference level.
Using These as a Complete Financial Toolkit
Each calculator above answers a specific question, but they connect into a coherent decision-making system across the full personal finance lifecycle:
- Before borrowing: use the Loan Calculator to see the true cost of debt across the full term, not just the monthly payment.
- Before investing: use Compound Interest to model growth scenarios and the Savings Goal calculator to work backwards from a target to a monthly action.
- Before a career decision: use the Salary Calculator to compare compensation structures on equal footing.
- When evaluating any investment or spend: use the ROI Calculator to benchmark the annualized return against alternatives.
- For everyday transactions: the Tip, Discount, and VAT calculators remove friction from transactions that happen multiple times a week.
None of these require an account, store any data, or show ads. All processing runs in your browser โ close the tab and nothing is retained. The complete set of finance calculators is in the Calculators hub. The full collection of 80+ free tools across finance, development, text, design, and wellness is at the Nutilz homepage.
